Rick Kress – Mechanic

Rick Kress came recommended by a Team Hammer mechanic, who knew Kress from their hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Kress has an automotive background, first working as a line mechanic and then doing performance modifications on and tuning sport compact and European cars.

Originally brought on as an engine builder, Kress was promoted to Crew Chief for Chris Ulrich in 2007. In 2008, Kress helped put Ulrich back on the podium in the Superstock Class at Barber Motorsports Park. In 2009, Kress and Ulrich were responsible for developing the team's GSX-R1000K9 Superbike.

In 2010, Kress again paired with Ulrich on the #18 M4 Suzuki GSX-R1000 in AMA Pro Superbike, making major strides in developing the bike and earning eighth in the final point standings despite missing two races when Ulrich was injured.

For 2011, Kress and Ulrich are back in AMA Pro Superbike on the #18 M4 Suzuki GSX-R1000 and looking to further improved their finishes.
