Michael Martin
Chief Riding Instructor

Michael Martin retired from competition at the end of 1995 after a distinguished five-year stint with Team Hammer, Inc., during which he co-rode to the WERA National Endurance Championship all five years, in the process winning 48 WERA National Endurance Series races. Martin was also a tough competitor in Formula USA, winning the series Team Triple Crown several years running and often leading the points with consistent podium finishes. Martin came out of retirement for two endurance races in 1997, co-riding to victory in both events and bringing his personal WERA National Endurance Series total to a record 50 race wins.

Martin started racing motorcycles at age 12 and progressed through karts and Formula race cars before returning to his first love, motorcycles. Prior to racing for Team Hammer, Inc., Martin ran his own sprint-racing programs and rode for other teams, earning the respect of Team Hammer co-founder John Ulrich and Crew Chief Keith Perry.

Away from the racetrack, Martin is a business executive.
